Creative Inspirations DT- Glitter, Glamour, Girly

For the next two weeks at Creative Inspirations we want to see creations that are:

Glittery, Glamour(y), & Girly

Is Glamoury even a word?
Well it is now!
I used an image from the Paper Cupcake store called "For the love of Lipstick".
I specifically made this card with my daughter in mind, thus the one of a kind orange color in the image. Also, the sentiment describes her to a "T" when she has lipstick on her little lips. She 's 9 & LOVES to look good. Don't worry, no lipstick to school for my little angel!! heehee

There's a shot of all that glittery goodness!!
The sketch is from Stamps R Us . I flipped it!
The large flowers are misc with mini WOC flowers inside.
Charm is a Wal-Mart Special!
The scallop pink trim down the center is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

We hope to see you this week at Creative Inspirations.

Other Challenges for my card:

Papertake Weekly- sparkly & bright
ABChallenge- G for Glitter
Stamp Something- something pink

OH MY GOODNESS.

I think this is my last card for this week.
I have been such a busy beaver making cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive....I'm taking next week off, so don't expect too much from my blog next week, ok? Got it? Do u understand (as I always say to my 3 yr old, who understands for about 2 seconds- haha- god love him! ).

I used the sketch from the Clean & Simple Challenge blog. I tried my bestest to be CAS. Although I distressed, added ribbon and heat embossed.....this is as simple as I get.
I have sent this beauty off to Vera at the Caring Hearts Card Drive as well. That's 5 cards for them.Follow the link to find out more about it!

I am entering my card into the Bah Humbug Challenge of Elegance & the Fab'n'Funky Challenge of CAS.
Creative Cottage wants embossing & I have done tons of heat embossing with the images and sentiment.
At Tuesday Throwdown they want your sentiment to be the main focus and I THINK mine is?!?
And Sentimental Sundays wants distressing.

Also there's a Christmas Challenges out there for Stampavie & more.

Okay folks. I have a couple DT cards coming up on Sunday & Monday. So we'll see you then!!

Tata for now!

Digi's with Attitude!

Click HERE if you are looking for the Caring Hearts Blog Hop.

*********************************************

I don't know how the weather is in your neck of the woods, but here it is RAINY, RAINY, WINDY, RAINY. I feel achy and I have a stuffed up nose! I just feel like sleeping all day, but with a baby, a toddler & a 9 yr old, that is just not happening....mind you, the oldest one is at school and the two younger ones nap at 1 pm.......looks like momma will take a nap too!!

**************************************************
A great new challenge called Digis with Attitude! (don't forget the exclamation point) made a debut recently and to lauch they had a prize of digis from their store
AND I WON IT!!
I got some cute little Grumpy Gretchen's & some sentiments from the Digi's with Attitude! Store.
I just love the looks on their faces. At first I didn't know what to make of them but the more I look at them, the more I realize we all look like this whether we know it or not, especially ME!!
I can honestly say I DO NOT walk around with a smile on my face 24/7,so these little images are perfect for me! lol

I digress, Digis with Attitude!  are currently having a blog hop with great prizes! The theme of this weeks challenge to co-inside with the hop is 'Girls Nite Out! Bling it on!' .
I have used the image Grumpy Gretchen Martini, cuz she's out on the town man!!
Sketch is Sketch & Stash & as noted above this image & sentiment are new for me, as is the little high heel shoe charm! Isn't it cute?
I made a little ribbon flower with a button center & you can see it on the lower left hand side of my card.

I think Gretchen looks Grumpily-Satisified sitting there drinking her martini, dont you!??!

Other Challenges for my card:

Paper Sundaes- a natural woman
Marks Finest Paper- punch (for the sentiment)

Caring Hearts Card Drive Blog Hop-----

Welcome to the Caring Hearts Card Drive Blog Hop where the name of the game is "caring" !!

This is stop #9 of 39- Yup it's a long one, so I hope you got some snacks & a bevy cuz we are gonna keep you hopping for a while!
If you came here from the crafty Cassie's blog, then you are on the right track.
Your next stop will be the dynamic Donna's blog.
If you stumbled across my blog by accident or good fortune today & wish to participate in this amazing blog hop, pls start at the beginning here!

***********************************

Whilst I was looking for challenges the other day, I stumbled across this blog that had an amazing thing going on......a card drive to collect CHRISTMAS, THANKSGIVING & HOLIDAY WISHES cards to send to elderly people living in care homes & assisted living complexes.

This drive is inspired by Vera's mom who said,
"Sometime as much as the elderly understand that it might be necessary for them to live in care center or nursing homes, it's still not an easy thing to be away from your family or being away from their home. It can be lonely and some of them might not even have anyone who would visit them. Would be nice if you can get a bunch of cards send to them".

Vera is hoping to collect cards & have them in her hand by November 15 in order to get them arranged for delivery for the appropriate holidays! She is giving away prizes, as well, for each card you send, the more times your name goes into the draws....................

For more information on this (ie- address of how & where to send your card, what to write inside the card, inventory list of sent items, etc)....... PLEASE CLICK HERE!

BUT...............

Dont' forget to continue hopping first, cuz
--some of the stops along the way are offering some candy of their own!!!
--and there are (random draw) prizes for those who participate and leave comments along the way!!

You don't wanna miss that!!!

My creation is a Thanksgiving card, specifically for a man.
If there is one thing I know, it's that there are never enough homemade cards for men, so this is my contribution to all the little old men out there!
The image is a freebie from Karen's Doodles & the sentiment I made on my computer.
I used my SU punch to punch out the sentiment & my fiskars corner punch to shape the corner of the picture & back blacking paper.
I used my new MS punch to punch the bottom of the orange & black paper....speaking of which, this paper is actualy a halloween digital design which I downloaded from the Bearly Mine Designs! There are a TON of beautiful digital papers over there that you need to check out, when you are done hopping here!!
The off-white Jute ribbon & the shimmery Satin Apple green ribbon are from Really Reasonable Ribbons!
The two flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This is my CTMH personalized stamp I always stamp the back of my creations with. Isn't it pirdy!!

NOW get hopping. you have a long way to go!!

Fussy & Fancy DT- Winter Wonderland

For the next two weeks at Fussy & Fancy we want to see a :

WINTER WONDERLAND !!

C'mon get into your creative center & show us your version of a winter wonderland!
It is a winter scene, is it a winter recipe, is it mystical/magical christmas, is it snowflakes.....what is YOUR winter wonderland?!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Stitchy Bear Stamps & the winner will get 5 digis from their store.

I have used a number of different elements for my card.
First of all, the mailbox you see is a digi from Stitchy Bear Stamps called "Got Mail".
I have paired it up with an Edwin image I got sent to me as a RAK from my blogger friend Vix.
How cute is Edwin delivering letters to that mailbox.
I also created a Winter Scene by stamping my (newly arrived) Magnolia Tree stamp. I masked the tree stamp numerous times & then I actually placed the mask template onto the scene, right beside Edwin. All those cool shades of green on it, makes it an original.
On the tress I places strings of bling & different color brads as well as liquid applique.

TIPS FOR USING LIQUID APPLIQUE:
What I did with the applique this time is a bit different than my usualI usual of  putting the liquid applique on & heating it up immediately OR putting it on  & letting it dry naturally. THIS time, on the advice from a fellow DT friend, I let it dry overnight then put the heat gun to it.....
AND WOW.......
.......we got snow!!! I LOVE IT!!!
Yup, there's snow on the mailbox too!
I added a little Happy Holidays sticker as well.

The die cut shape is from Mrs. Sugar's Die Cut Dreams Store. First time using an oval & it worked perfectly to fit my winter scene!
I stamped snowflakes around the edge of the diecut with my versamark stamp & added white embossing powder to them.....and again took out my heat gun to make them POP!!

Then there's the secret tag that is hiding between the die cut layers.
It is a recipe tag.........for homemade hot chocolate!

There's nothing better than a nice cuppa hot chocolate after a walk in MY winter wonderland!!!

The tag shape you see here is from Sentimental Sundays, it was a freebie a couple weeks back.

Please do come by the Fussy & Fancy Challenge blog for a chance to win some great digis!!

************************************************************

Also check out OUR Steel Manolias blog for challenges for my card & for some great candy!!!

The Steel Magnolias blog represents the friendships of 5 bloggers who share a love for Magnolia stamps. It also coninsides with the move "Steel Magnolias" where 5 good friends share in love, laughter, tears, and hopes for the future......each of us blogger buddies has chosen a person to be from the movie characters, that is why you will see us calling each other by other names. I am Wheeza (from the movie). Susie is Clairee. Lori is M'Lynn, Trisha is Annelle. And Roberta is Truvy.
If you get a chance to watch the movie I highly recommend it!! It is a classic!!
