Frosted Designs Sketch

As I compile a scrapbook for my brother's family based on their dog who has recently passed [see original post HERE] I am slowly finding more scrapbook blogs out there & the Frosted Designs Challenge is yet another one I've found along the way...............how?
Thru a fine scrapper named Libeeti.
I follow her & she does some amazing layouts, so I snuck a peek & found this challenge blog.
Thanks Libeeti!

I flipped the sketch & got this!
This is a family picture taken around Christmas in 2008.
I followed the colors of the people's clothes to base my color scheme.
The stamped sentiment is from a SU set.

Challenges for my layout:
The Crafty Pad- for the boys

Creative Inspirations & Totally Tilda DT-Valentines/Love/Hearts

It's a TWO-FER!

At Creative Inspirations we want to see your VALENTINES/LOVE creations
&
At Totally Tilda we want to see TILDA WITH HEARTS (lots & lotsa hearts)

I have created a heart easle with my Creative Memories shape cutter. At first it was going to be just a heart card, but thought, HEY why not make it an easle. The more hearts the better. I used my heart covered misc. paper that I have had for a 'coons' age.
The red ribbon is actually Christmas Ribbon I cut the sides off to keep the bright red part for Valentines day. The heart faux rhinestone buckle on the ribbon is part of a set I bought at Hobby Lobby.
The crimped pink heart I've also had since the beginning of time & the heart mirror is a recent purchase from Dollarama. Heart doily I got off eBay.
Sentiment is from Bizzy Becs Store and comes with a whole wack of other sentiments in her 3 scallop Valentine set.

There's  few more hearts on here but you get the picture! Fill er up with hearts & love will ya!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Challenges for my card:
Stamp Insanity- find your Zen (i think I found it-lol)
Crafty Sentiments- fave things (embellies)
Meljen's DT & Challenge Blog- make something with hearts on it
The Pink Elephant- pink/red/brown
Lexi's Creations- valentines

This will be post #2 for today.........

*************************************

As I've mentioned, once or twice before, I am putting together a scrapbook page for my brother's family, based on their dog Rousseau [RUSSO]. You can see the original post HERE.
As I am putting together this scrapbook, I am finding some amazing scrapbook layout sites to center my pages around. Another one of those sites is the s.e.i LIFESTYLE- paper beyond scrapbooking site.
Once I found the site, I had to think as to whether or not I had s.e.i materials to display on my page, then I remembered purchasing some from an on-line store at one time. I was so happy I remembered.

The s.e.i papers are the big circle behind the pictures,as well as the smaller circles on either side of the pictures. This is the Moonrise Collection. I have more papers to use on the co-ordinating page, I am just waiting for another awesome layout.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Challenges for my layout:
Sketches in Thyme- open theme as long as you follow a sketch
Simon Says Stamp- animal antics
The Crazy Challenge- dots & stripes

White on White & a DT call...........

OMG. I am sooooooooooooo excited to show you my card today!
It has got to be one of my faves to date!
Normally I don't do white on white very well, I didn't even like doing it, until I pulled this one together. Now I'm hooked! Totally, totally hooked!
I used a Sweet Pea image sent to me be a blogger friend; cuz I've been aching to get in on the "In A Sweet Pea Dream" Challenge. The more I color these 'sweet ' images, the more I love them, too! I just kept falling in love over and over again today (well the other day, when I made it)! LOL
I used 3 different embossing plates for my layers.
And layer I did. Layer, pop dot, layer, pop dot.
I also used many differnt nesties, including my scallop rectangles, tag, & Magnolia DooHickeys.
Colored my image with watercolor pencils, baby oil & blending stumps, except the skin; that is copic colored.

And I even completed the inside with a sentiment I made all by my 'sels' (as my 3 yr old would say).

Before I get to the challenges for my 'Sweet' white on white card, I am also going to show you 2 more of my fave stamped creations for a DT call going on at Let's Ink It Up.

1. The above card is one of my FAVES, now, for sure!!

********************

2. This Tilda was colored for the very first challenge at the Totally Tilda blog (Chocolate Tilda).
*looks off into space* hhmmmmmmmmm the memories
Now I'm part of that fantastic DT.

3. This hAnglar stAnglar card is another of my FAVEs!! In fact I chose it as one of my top 5 for 2010.
Made with my son in mind! My little monkey!

Fairy fun Friday DT- For a Sweetheart

At Fairy Fun Friday this fortnight, we want to see you create something

FOR A SWEETHEART.

Remember you don't have to use a Prairie Fairy image, but we DO love to see them.
I have chosen to create a digital scrapbook page, using a Prairie Fairy Design called Vintage Lock & Key.
The Prairie Fairy provides JPEG as well as PNG formats for her images, so I took the PNG colored images and ran with it!
This first picture you see here is what my digital scrapbook page layout looked like before I altered it in my Creative Memories Storybook Creator 3.0 program.

And this is the final result. You can see I changed the hue of the paper to match the lock and key & removed the small slots at the bottom of the page (normally for more pictues) & replaced it with the Prairie Fairy images & sentiment.
I also added a heart cut shape on digital DP that matched the scrapbook page.
Can't forget about the awesome pic of me & my hubby. This pic was take December 2008.
( i think) lol

So there you have it!
Hey, if you are an avid digital scrapbooker who wants to get your hands on the Prairie Fairy's PNG files, go check out her store! We want to see what you can do & with the additon of our new FAIRIES this week, we have some real treats coming up in the future.............including more scrapbook pages!! YAHOO!!

Get crafting now and get your entry FOR YOUR SWEETHEART into the Fairy Fun Friday challenge today!

Cute, right?

That was my first thought.
How cute is this stamp?!?
I got it from by blogger friend Stacie, along with a few other goodies, including stickers, papers, a teapot card, a beautiful Christmas Tree tag, a Tim Holtz distress ink pad, a homemade flower.....it was a nice surprise. She said she thought of me & my two boys when she saw this stamp!
I had to color it up, immediately!
I love it. Thanks a bunch Stacie! You rock my world girl!
I can already see it in different layouts & colors!

I colored with watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil.
The sentiment is made with CTMH Hodge Podge Alphabet, stamped on blue ink pad with a green ink pad to the top half. Colors match the papers beautifully! I am pleased with the way it looks.
Not much you can do to fussy up a male card, so I added a touch of ribbon to each end of the sentiment & some buttons. A bit of stitching never hurt anyone!

Thanks for stopping by.

Challenges for my card:
All Sorts- card for a male
OSAAT- as you like it

Another Page for the Scrapbook

Over the next little while you will see pictures of scrapbook pages I am compiling for my brother, his wife & their kids who had to put their dog down. See the original post HERE.
This is another page.
It's a winter one. OBVIOUSLY duh! RIGHT!! LOL
Rousseau loved the outdoors. Snowy & cold or Sunny & warm. Whatever the weather, Rousseau was one of the kids when it came to play time!

This is a sketch from Twisted Sketches (see below) with the twist of 'white-anyway; anyhow'.
I did a bit of embossing with the swirls behind the pics & snowflakes behind the words.

Thanks for popping in today! Hope I inspired you somehow, anyway; anyhow.

Challenges for my scrapbook page:
Sir Stampalot- A Winter's Tale (Tail? heehee)
The Shabby Tearoom- Winter Wonderland
Simply Create- use your punches
Wee Memories- anything goes

The Making of a Scrapbook Part #1

OOOOOoooooo it has been a hard week.
My brother & his family recently had to put their pet dog, Rousseau [RUSSO], 'down' due to a significant illness.
This remarkable dog has been with the family for 14 years.
He was literally 'one of the gang'.
Going on boatrides, snowmobile rides, visiting the neighbors in the city & at their cabin in the country.
If there EVER was the perfect pet, Rousseau was it.
My sister-in-law informed me that in 14 yrs they only heard Rousseau bark 3-4 times; and were in such shock when it happened, they swore it was another dog. lol
To commemorate him, I am putting together an 8X8 scrapbook for them.

I'm not sure what the layout for the scrapbook will be; what page number this will be, but rest assured I will show them as I compile them. This has a 'matching' page for the other side of the scrapbook, but will not be posted for a few more weeks! Sorry.

I got this amazing scrapbook sketch layout from Sketches in Thyme (see below) & can't wait to use more of their layouts.

Thanks for stopping by.
Remember to give your pet a big hug today!

Challenges for my scrapbook page:

Stamp Fairy- circles, circles, circles
Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge- anything goes
Fab'n'Funky- animal magic
All Sorts- for a male
Paper Sundaes- distressing

Totally Tilda DT- Midway reminder- Baby Baby! & Something YUMMY

If your looking for the Creative Inspirations Birthday Blog Hop- CLICK HERE

*****************************

YUMMY!
Your thinking candy right!
Not so much, just a glimpse of my homemade egg rolls
Who wants the recipe?

********************************************

At Totally Tilda we currently have a challenge running called
Baby Baby and this is my midway reminder to you!!!

How cute is this lil' baby !
I made this card for a girlfriend of mine who is expecting her second child in March!
I gave her this card in December when we had our semi-annual lunch at Red Lobster. Yup it is a tradition now! Both of our birthdays are in May so we try to get together for that, as well as for a Christmas luncheon......at our favorite spot............mmmmm............I LOVE Red Lobster almost as much as my egg rolls!

Anyways, she does not know what the sex is  & although I tried to make a card for either sex, I think I kinda leaned toward girl with all the orange! OOPs! Regardless, she loved it! (Phew)

The blue & white gingham ribbon & blue glittery ric rak is from Really Reasonable Ribbons & kinda has a shabby feel. I am gonna have to buy more of this stuff, 'cept in different colors!
The little yellow circle embellie is something I've had since the beginning of my scrapbooking career. That would be since  2006! Finally it got used.
The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You !

If you know of anyone expecting a baby or just want to make a baby card for fun with our favorite little girl TILDA, pls feel free to pop it into the challenge over at Totally Tilda! You've got one more week to do it!

Challenges for my card:
Simon Says Stamp- GEMS, GLITTER, RIBBON
Wee Memories-anything goes
I Did It Creations Challenge- card for a child
Cute Card Thursday- 1 (image), 2 (gem swirls), 3 (buttons)
Dutch Dare Challenge- sketch (see below)- I flipped it
