Do It With Digis' DT card- USE A DIGI BACKGROUND (with Tilda or Edwin)

It's that time again.................it's another Do It With Digis' Challenge.
This time we want to see you use :

DIGITAL BACKGROUNDS
with a  Tilda or Edwin!

Yup, Finally Edwin gets some love. I'm so happy about that!
For this challenge we are sponsored by Di's Digis Downloads who allowed us to use some of their wonderful digi backgrounds.

I colored Edwin with SU reinkers a LONG time ago & have been waiting for the opportunity to use him, so this was the perfect scene! I added some flower soft to his basket. I colored the digi background with my watercolor pencils, baby oil & blending stumps. Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't add the extras. Some Hodge Podge Hardware, a little closepin & little paper made corner adornment. The sentiment is from SU.

SO SORRY IF MY PICS AREN'T SHOWING UP-----------WHAT IS WRONG WITH BLOGGER?!?!?!

Challenges for my card:

Craft Us Crazy- Easter/Spring
Dutch Dare Challenge- distressing
Sisterhood of Crafters- for the boys
Creative Cowgirls- spring or easter

Bizzy Becs- A line of Daisys'

Alongside the new Miss Cherry Martini line of digis at Bizzy Becs, she also has this line of digis available April 1st.

It's a whole new line of DAISY images & this one is called 'Daisy laying in a field'.
I just love the feel of this image. So spring. So summer. So fresh.

I added a Magnolia Die Doohickey with gems & glitter & also added a little brown frame I bought at the dollar store, except I painted it with Distress Ink - weathered wood- crackle paint! A brand new purchase for me from a local craft store. I have been aching to try this stuff & turns out I absolutely love it!
Problem is- the Tatered Rose one I bought is almost dried up completely.....I've called the store to complain, but won't hear back until later today sooooooooooo.............all you crackled paint fanatics......can I add water to moisten it up or will it ruin it? HELP!

Y

PS- the square doily is also from Bizzy Becs Store !

Bizzy Becs has some new stamps coming out APRIL 1 !!
This is another sneak peek of the new Blue Butterfly line called:

This cheeky little girl is called "Cheeky Dakota in Stripes".
I actually love the way this card came together with the metal mesh in the background & the little metal letters that, in actuality, say "4 you". You know ......roman numerals. IV = 4. I know, I know I am 'like so hip, okay?!' ROTFL. And I really like the greens with the black. Call me Crazy!
I will be giving this to my daughter's BFF for her B-day in April .

There are some Tim Holtz papers in the background & misc green ribbon overtop of the Really Reasonable Ribbons spiderweb ribbon. I also added a bit of silver bling to her dress frills.

Be sure to check out Bizzy Becs Store Blog for more great SNEAK PEEKS!

SNEAK PEEK

Bizzy Becs has TWO new stamp lines available starting April 1!

The card I am showing you today is from the new Blue Butterfly line called:

These come in full images, but I chose to print them large enough to get just the head shots. The first card I am showing you is called "Kneeling Kitty", cuz in the whole image you can actually see her kneeling.

I went with orange and black. After having a Poll on one of the FB groups I'm in, I realized that ORANGE is not a color I use too often, so thought I should break it out!
I've distressed with my Tim Holtz distressingn tool and used some paper from a Tim Holtz paper pack I bought a while back. Very Kewl!
The sentiment is from a different digital set from Bizzy Becs as well.

Stay tuned for more sneak peeks.
You can also hop on over to the Bizzy Becs store blog for more DT inspiration, cuz we are ALL showing our sneak peeks & more once April arrives! !

Challenges for my card:
The Stamp Man- anything TIM
Paperplay- distressing

Fairy Fun Friday DT- OH SO SPRING

YAHOO! Another Fairy Fun Friday Challenge.........
......can you smell it?

What's that you ask?
OUR THEME is:

OH SO SPRING

It's just around the corner and I love it!!
Can't wait, cuz then summer's next & the real fun begins!!
WoOHOOO!!!
This cute lil image is called Flower Fairy from Prairie Fairy Designs.
What a gorgeous color combo dontcha think. I love how it all came together. These papers are Bo Bunny- Sophie collection & I got them HERE.
The sentiment is a chipboard piece as is the little circle hanging off the flowers. I added some pieces of my broken spellbinder nestability to it. Funny how those things the average person would throw out come in handy for US CRAFTERS! LOL

What do u have in mind when you hear the word Spring?
We want to see it over at FFF this fortnight!

******************
There are also sneak peeks starting for the new line available April 1st!!
WooHOoOO!!
**********************

This image is called Cody on a Swing. I love this image, cuz I can totally picture that pup as one of my own shih-tzu's just sitting there waiting for a ride!

I know you can't tell but the backing brown paper is a leather like sticky back piece that I got from by blogger friend Stacie! Man are these papers handy. Peel & stick! Love em.
I punched the edges of the green paper with my MS punch & seperated them in the middle. That's where I placed the red Jute ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbons! I added a buncha little extras as well, from buttons to stickers to an eyelet & a charm. At first glance I wasn't too pleased with the outcome but after sleeping on it I really liked how it looked on my table in the morning....Just Perfect!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wombat Bookmark

So there's a challenge going on at the Tickled Pink Facebook Group and I am soooooooooo in the game girlz! The challenge is for a $25.00 Tickled Pink Gift Cert for April! Which means new releases will be here! woo hoo!! All you have to do is make a corner bookmark with a Tickled Pink image! And your in!

I have chosen the Tickled Pink image Wombat Walking. Isn't he cute? Actually after googling for images, turns out they are nasty lil suckers......lol.......nasty but cute......in a weird way! LOL Regardless this little woombat all dressed up just melts my heart. I think he was a freebie at the Tickled Pink Store at one time.

I am also entering my corner bookmark into the Tickled Pink Challenge which is "Off the scrap desk". I have used a few items that perhaps are not usually used for cardmaking, crafting. The "string" (I really don't know what it is called---see top pic for better picture of the gigantic roll I have) I have had sitting around my crafting area ever since  a fellow DT member of mine made a card with it & I decided I wanted to case her......so as I was headed to the store to look for some of this amazing material......I happened upon it in my own basement. Hubby's been holding out on me! So I brought it upstairs and there it sits! lol. Another item I used is the cloth doily I purchased a while ago at my local fabric store that was going out of business. I used only half for my bookmark. I sponged it with Vintage Photo ink. Last but certainly not least I used a couple staples. oOOooooooooooo and stitching. Never used to be for cards.....but is NOW!! heehee.

Other challenges for my bookmark:
Freshly Brewed- 2 or more embellies (MORE IS better-right Kellie! )lol
OCC- don't throw that away (recycle)
Crafts & Me- anything goes
ABC- Q for quilting/sewing
Creative Card Crew- no rubba stamps-digital ok

Three Boys

I have been aching to color up one of Lori's digis FOREVER! Then when I purchased the Help For Katie Digital Stamps Pack #1, this little beauty was inside. This stamp represents the 3 special boys in Katies' life. To read about Katie & ongoing battle to beat cancer click HERE.

There is also a blog set up HERE for fundraising, blog hops & such in support of Katie & her family. This image is the offical badge.

So like i said, Happy as a Clam to color this baby.....to match Lori's challenge (see below). She always has such great color schemes and her DT do amazing work! So I got to it.
With my watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil. Most of the colors are greens, but there are some yellows in there too, just to make the greens pop.
The Live, Laugh, Love piece is chipboard and the green ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons. I glittered the heart and added some misc sock monkey paper cuz, to me, boys are just a buncha monkeys!

On a side note; there are now 2 digi packages available for purchase at the link above (OR CLICK HERE). They are listed on the sidebar right at the top. If anyone is interested in purchasing  a set, the proceeds go directly to Katie & her family.

Challenges for my card:
Make it Colorful- blend green & yellow together
Delightful Challenges- show us some green
Really Reasonable Ribbons- one for the boys
OSAAT- for the boys
The Crafty Pad- use a digi
The Corrosive Challenge- recipe (3 papers, 2 ribbons, 1image)
Friday Sketchers- sketch (see below)

By Lori Designs Challenge #9- color inspire (see below)

Bizzy Becs- Blue Butterfly Stamps Sneak Peek & a tut

Wow, wow, wow it's been like 3 days since my last post!!
Told ya this working & trying to keep up with my household was going to be a challenge!
O heck, 3 days is not bad!

***************************************

Bizzy Becs has a new Blue Butterfly Stamp Line available for purchase at the store. This line is called:

Bec is dedicating this line to her DT cuz we bugged her for some boy images and BOY oh BOY are these some cuties!  This image is called Cody on a ScooterWhat a superstar hey? I layered him up with some papers I bought at Hobby Lobby last November. I used my slit punch to make a place for my ribbon to run thru the nestie shape. The word PLAY is made of stickers.

I have had a couple questions about my coloring with water color pencil crayons, blending stumps & baby oil. Now I am NO expert in this area, in fact I learned what I know from The Prairie Fairy (she has an even better tutorial HERE on Paper Craft Planet). Here's a quicky MY version.
On the left here you see my blending stumps in one container & in the other container is a sponge with some baby oil soaked into it. Some people use gamasol instead of baby oil, but the good thing about baby oil is that is doesn't smell (unless you use the baby powder scent- then your pic will be like a scratch & sniff-lol). Anywho, the pic on the right is a pkg of blending stumps unopened. I am showing you these two pics, cuz I had NO IDEA what a blending stump was!! So there you go.

#1. So I take my light green first and I start to color around the edges. Keep in mind that the blending stump will allow you to carry the color, so don't color the whole section if you want lighter parts.

#2. Then I take my blending stump & start blending the color in a small circular motion

#1   #2

#3. Then I take a darker/different shade of green & add it to areas I want to be a bit darker on his shirt
#4. Shows where I have added more color.

#3  #4

#5. woops sorry, told you I am not very good at this but this pic shows that I have blended the second color green in already and am now adding a third shade for more effect.

#6. I've started on the pants. A light shade of brown first.

#5 #6

#7. Brown blending stump, shown before blending began

#8. Shows part of the colored pants blended in already

#7   #8

#9. Shows the first shade of brown completely blended then I am adding another shade of brown overtop with the same rule as the shirt. Where I want it darkest, I'll keep adding color and blending it out.

#9

You see the finished picture at the top on my card.
Hope this helps & inspires you to try a new technique yourself!

Take Care

Challenges for my card:
Incy Wincy- for the boys
Charisma Cardz- use a die cut
Tellen's Place- Sports theme
Paper Pretties- masculine card
