White on White at Crafting for All Seasons

Supa Sweet Dawn e-mailed me not long ago asking if I'd like to play along at the Crafting For All Seasons Challenge blog this time round, as she wanted a couple of Kristy's DT members to join in since SOME ODD GIRL will be sponsoring this challenge. I was lucky enough to be asked!
So honored!
Thanks Dawn!

So as you can see by my title; at the Crafting for All Seasons Challenge blog for the next two weeks the challenge is:

WHITE ON WHITE

I really like making white on white cards, but unfortunately I don' make enough of them!?!>
I have used HollyDay Gwen (one of the newest Oddies, next to the Nouveau Girls, that is). She comes in a clear stamp set with 4 other stamps, including this sentiment & the holly you see beneath the sentiment). I attempted the no lines stamping again & let me tell ya, I had to throw her out twice, before I was happy with my coloring! haha

Lace is from WOC, white brads are from Hobby Lobby, sparkly snowflake is from my stash (it's so old, I had to glue it on, cuz it lost it's stickyness)......the wee flowers beside Gwen are also from my stash...I don't even remember where they came from.

Challenges for my card
Addicted to Stamps- Christmas Card
Ladybug Crafts Ink- white on white (thanks Laurie)
Sketchy Colors- pink & white
Stamptacular Sundays- anything Christmas
Whoopsi Daisy- white on white

A card for me, for fun

First of all a big hey, hello to all my new followers.
---------------------
Yes, I got a chance to make a card for myself after not crafting for what seems like an eternity!
What's kept me busy?......I've been putting up the Christmas tree & house decorations (thereby rearranging the living room causing some highly neglected and necessary dusting), treating my chest infected babes to facemask treatments at the hospital 2-3X /day, arranging appointments, doing laundry, shopping for Christmas (mostly on line or by phone), gathering stuff for some blog candy & buying an iPhone (& trying to figure out how to operate the dang thing; thank gawd my hubby & 10 yr old daughter know what to do...lol)
---------------------------------------

I thought I owed it to myself to make a card for me, for fun, for no reason at all!
I have had this suh-weet image called Steampunk from Saturated Canary colored for quite sometime, & have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use her. What better reason than an anything goes at the Saturated Canary Challenge #5!!

Papers are Websters Pages. Ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbons and the large chipboard flower is from a pack of chipboard pieces I bought off of eBay. The small white crocheted flower is from my former DT boss Kim (@JustWordz) & the dew drops were a gift from another former JustWordz teamie, Tara, who  hand colored them herself.  Sentiment is from SU & wee mirror butterfly is from Dollarama baby!!

Please pop by in a couple days, I should have some Candy posted by December 1st!
Stay tuned!

This is by far my fave project from this past week!

Decorate for Christmas

I was so pleasantly surprised when Sheri from My Sheri CRAFTS e-mailed me the other day to inform me that I could be a GDT on her blog this week! How could I refuse right!!

The theme this week is

DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS

How much more festive can you get than this theme right!?!?

I chose to use this Simply Sassy Stamp called All Wrapped Up & she is available at Funky Kits. I totally think she is decorating for Christmas with her wrapping paper, tags and OBVIOUS garland strung up behind her! lol.....oooo let's not forget about them lights on the ribbon & paper!
I was in a green tone mood the other night when the girls & I got together for a coloring session. Perhaps it was the 'green' feeling I had the day after, that I was preparing for whilst coloring this beauty! LOL These ribbons are courtesy of The Ribbon Carousel.

This sticker sentiment is from my CTMH stash.

Thanks for stopping by today and we sure hope to see your version of decorating for Christmas over at My Sheri's Crafts Challenge! Take Care

Challenges for my card:
MAWTT- ribbons & bows
Simply Create Too- all about Christmas
Fairy Tale Challenge- Christmas

Hellllloooooooooooooooo it's time for another Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge!!
We are exactly 1 month until Christmas! How does that make you feel!
I have anxiety personally! So much to do so little time!

Our theme this week is

HANDWRITTEN SENTIMENT

How are u going to do this? Handwrite it yourself as I did. Get your child to write it. Get some nice writing off the computer and trace it!! HHmmmmmmm............ the possibilities! One this you must remember is that you have to use a stamp from the Tickled Pink Stamp Ranges! Head on over to the Tickled Pink Stamps Store & take a look around !
I have used Tickled Winter Snowflake Fairy Nadine from the latest TPS line- Tickled Winter. Papers are misc. as are the wee spongy snowflakes. The lace on my card is from WOC. I put some stickles as snowflakes beside Nadine too.

Try it On Tuesday GDT

A while ago, I won a GDT spot at the Try It On Tuesday blog. Angela e-mailed me the choice of a couple challenges to choose from and I chose to do the "Honey I shrunk the Plastic" challenge.
Pop this on your blog to find us fast!

I won a challenge a while back and the prize I picked was some shrink plastic and acetate! Needless to say I  haven't used either of these things very much, so here we are. The package of shrink plastic I picked came with white & black sheets. I have used the white to make my Some Odd Girl Nouveau Girl earrings (HERE) and this is my first time using the black. Boy did we fight!!

Usually you need to stamp with Staz-On ink onto shrink plastic, but since I don't have any Staz-On white ink I decided to try a couple other things. First I tried versamark with embossing powder. After I cut out my image and went to heat it, it ended up looking like a blog of "guck"....with the embossing powder overtaking the image and making it look like crap! LOL

So next I tried White Craft Ink. It worked, but smudges easily, so I had to make sure I didn't touch the stamped image. Then the heating process was another story. Sometimes the plastic curled so much it got stuck to itself. As you can see from the pic below, I still have some 'shrinking to do'.
I am making lil charms for the kids presents!

The pic below shows some of my 'woopsies'....but I still kept them (my woopsies are using HollyDay Gwen).
All the stamps I used are from Some Odd Girl.....with this reindeer & wee Tobie being from the  Deck the Halls Tobie set.

I sure hope you can find the time to "Shrink Your Plastic" for the challenge this week at Try it on Tuesday!?!>!

Take Care

Challenges for my plastic charms:
OSAAT- anything goes
Stamptacular Sunday- boy oh boy
Paper Sundaes- beautiful bows

Fall is in the air.........

................ actually it's more like WINTER in these parts! LOL
But I simply had to get in on the Saturated Canary Challenge this time.....so here she is.

I used the Sketch Saturday sketch to put my card together. My papers are Prima called Melody. I love these colors. I tried to color Snow White just right to match the papers. My sentiment is a rub on from SU as are the flowers surrounding my image.

Challenges for my card:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge- thank you/thanksgiving
Di's Digis' Designs- fall colors
Pile it On- anything with a "P"- (prima papers)
Sketch Saturday- sketch (see below)

Busy, Busy Busy

As I've said before, I'm so sorry for not being around lately. I have been busy trying to get my career in order and it just gives me headaches thinking about it! LOL On the upside, as previously mentioned, I am going to start "Agency Nursing" with my first shifts being in December. I'm both nervous & excited. I'll be sticking to small rural hospitals, as that is what I am most familiar with. We'll see how it goes. I'm definitely not committed in any way, shape or form......simply experimenting!

As for what else I've been up to..............well, those posts/creations/announcements will all come to light within the next few weeks. Today, however, I hope to do something just for fun, if all the kiddos co-operate. Having said that my daughter has had a nasty cough for about a month now....went away a bit, then came back with a vengeance within the past 24 hrs.............now she feels like it is cold in the house, when her room is always the warmest one. Uh Oh, I smell a flu bug! Perhaps crafting will have to wait.

******************************

I took these pictures a few weeks ago whilst......you guessed it.....checking my mail. I call these pictures.....Send 1, get 1 free!

Bwahhhaaaa.....I see now that they both look kinda goofy in these pics!

***************************************

Candy news:

Tracey at BrossART Addiction has some great candy up for grabs. You must head over and check it out!

I am also planning to host a candy draw, closer to the beginning/middle of December......stay tuned for that!

Fairy Fun Friday- Fall

I must apologize for not being around lately. My mind has been racing with so many things. Koda (& her treatments- she is walking with a drunk bum still, but walking nonetheless), work, our new van (that hubby is fixing up), our old van (that is on the brink of falling to pieces), work, kids activities, Christmas, work......you get the idea.
As I mentioned above, work has been weighing heavily on my mind & I have been distracted lately with trying to find a new direction to go in. So as of lately, I am glad to tell you I will be picking up shifts thru an agency. Travelling to a different facility to work on my stretches off! Something new. Something different. Perhaps something more permanent.
All the doors are open right now.

---------------------------------------------------------

I digress. The purpose of this post is to tell you what the theme is at Fairy Fun Fridays this fortnight.

FALL

Yup, plain & simples.
Fall colors, fall image, fall embellies, fall sentiment.......fall, fall fall!
Get it!?>! lol

I have chosen the image Morley Dancing from Prairie Fairy Designs. If you follow the link you will see Morley actually has a sweater on....well, with the permission of the fairy, I removed the sweater, to make it less wintery and more fall-y !
I used some of my new colored cardstock for the base layers & surrounded Morley with alot of my embellies I've had hangin around foreva!

My sentiment is a rub on.

I hope to see your fall creations at the FFF challenge  this week!

Challenges for my card
Forever Friends- something old, something new
Card Makin' Mamas- thankful
The Play Date Cafe-  photo inspire

Some Odd Recipe

Welcome to another chilly Thursday. Well it's chilly here anyways! In fact we've had snow off & on since last week; then a big KABOOM yesterday and I think it's finally here to stay!? EEK! I finally got my s&^! together & bought my kids some snow suits! Nothing like leaving things until the last minute!

Another Thursday means another Some Odd Girl  Challenge and this week we have a recipe for you!

1 COLORED CARDSTOCK BASE, 2 DP, BUTTONS & A PUNCH OR DIE CUT

Easy Peasy right!?>

I have chosen to use Mail Day Tia from the Some Odd Girl Store ! She is just so cute looking in her mailbox. Kinda reminded me of the times before e-mail & computers......so to commemorate that I made a computer generated sentiment and used my butterfly punch to cut it out! I had this wee stamp colored for quite sometime, so all I had to do was find the perfect papers to match!

And a little close up!

Thanks for stopping by today. Can't wait to see what you create with our scrummy delicious recipe!

This card is posted in my galleries:

SOME ODD GIRL FLICKR GROUP- 12 weeks of Christmas

Challenges for my card:
Paper Sundaes- digital image
Flutterby Wednesdays- open

Recipe Challenge! 2 pattern papers + colored cardstock base (NO KRAFT OR WHITE BASE) + buttons + punch/die cut = your card. All of these elements must be present to be eligible. Of course image and sentiment aren't included or our equation might have looked ridiculously long but have to be in there too.
