MORE SCENTSY- my new passion!

I simply had to share with you the warmer of the month for December!
OMG it is so cute!
It is called Comfy Cozy!
I just love mine!

This is where all my time has been going.
Running my Home Based Business with Scentsy!
It has kept me so busy, I can't believe it!
Either I'm doing a home party or trade show or organizing orders and getting basket parties ready!
And to make it even better.......
I"M GETTING PAID!

Who would have thought it could be so easy to make enough spending money to take my family on vacations, could be sooooooooo easy!

OOOoooo wait gotta show you this!
Scent of the month: Huckleberry Sage!

I know alot of people who scope out blogs and blogland are living in the UK, so just to let you know, SCENTSY IS THERE TOO! just look around! Perhaps someone you know is selling it!
IF the answer to that is NO.............
Then if I were you, I'd get on it, cuz this stuff just HAS to be shared!

When I first started selling Scentsy in March 2012, there were 457 consultants in the UK then.....
........In September 2012- there were 798 consultants in the UK!
And now.......
...........In October 2012- there were 933 consultants! It's catching on!!

The Popluation of the UK is 56.1 million, give or take
The Population of Canada (where I live) is 38.1 million, and WE have 11,076 consultants!

YOU DO THE MATH!!
The UK needs more consultants!!!!!!

FASCINATING isnt' it!
I love how it grows and I love how it literally sells itself!

Pls feel free to message me if you want to buy some or Join my team!!
Here's the link to my website so you can look at the goods for yourself!

Perhaps I shall go get crafty now!

CLP Challenge for November!

HAPPY NOVEMBER EVERYONE.......and  welcome to another challenge at the CLP Challenge Blog. Chelsea has whipped up yet another fantastic sketch for us to play with, along with one of her newer images called Pretty Pumpkin that can purchased at her store HERE.  I just love her !

I have used a variety of papers from different sources. I used my liquid pearls for the line across the top, as well as on the butterflies and on various spots on the little girls shirt & shoes.
She's been colored with copics and glittered purple around the edges of the paper.

I've hidden a little tag in the side of card.
And as you can see I've added some swirls and a die cut kitty to finish off my creation.
These die cuts are compliments of my ex-team mates from the Midweek Magnolias! Thanks girlies!

I hope you can come join us at the CLP Challenge Blog this month! We'd love to see you.

Oh before I forget here's a couple pics of my kiddos yesterday while halloweening (is that a word?) LOL
My daughter Hannah (11) is in the white dress- BTW I wore this dress when I graduated nursing school in 2005!!!
Reade (5) is the turtle in green &
Merik (2.5) is the puppy dog!
The other little girl is my daughter's friend!

Christmas in September with a little CLP sketch!

Welcome back to my blog all you lovely followers!
I'm so sorry to have been distracted lately ,but oh my goodness, with my Scentsy business in full bloom and the beautiful summer weather we had.....not to mention all of bloggers problems ......I am fiually able to post my creation for the  CLP Sketch Challenge where Chelsea has created another masterpiece.

This post is also for the Midweek Magnolias challenge of Christmas in September; where this will in fact be my last post for the DT!  With this summer being filled with such emotion (see previous posts) and super stellar weather, it has occurred to me that I cannot force myself to sit at my craft table ! I have decided to concentrate on Scrapbooking as my children have reminded me of it's importance, when they drag out their books and point and talk and laugh at their photos.

Cards are fabulous, people buy them, we give them away, then 9 times out of 10 they get thrown out....... but pictures are our memories. They last forever! Dont get me wrong, I love cardmaking & will continue to do so........but at my leisure. For those important to me!

I had this little angel colored for sometime . On Kraft paper, so thought it was a fitting Christmas image! I have used some of the tassels I bought at Dollarama a long time ago and cut a doily to place on the site to meet Chelsea's sketch!

Wishing you all the best!
I will try to sneak around blogland once in a while!
Until then...........stay crafty!

Challenges for my card.

Anything Goes- early Christmas
Bearly Mine- anything goes
Try It On Tuesdays- anything goes
Stamp & Create- anything goes

August Sketch at CLP Challenge

Welcome to the August CLP sketch Challenge
Hopefully this post goes off without a hitch, cuz as you read this I am officially on holidays with my family. We are camping at Lilac Resort doing some mini golfing, watersliding & playing tons of games. I will have to post pictures later for sure!

***********************************

Well our Chelsea has put together yet another fantastically inspirational piece for you all!

Remember you can rotate it, flip it and add any kind of embellies and crafting goodies you like as long as the sketch is somewhere to be spotted !

For my card I have opted to use a New Digi that Chelsea has produced & is now available HERE. This Pretty Little girl is called Pretty Mermaid. I have colored her with copics and layered her with some of my finest papers. Splashed a bit of acrylic paint on the edges and added some fabby die cuts from my gal pal, blogger friend Suzi! The white lace is from WOC and the flowers are my FAVE from I am Roses
And hey what's a card without a bunch a glitter!

I am sure you will all blow us away with your creations this month.
Seems every month they get better & better!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Take Care.

Now here's a few shots of our holidays so far:

Have a great day everyone!

Then to now.

Hello blogger friends.
I am so sorry I have been such a bad blogger buddy lately.
I simply have not felt like crafting very much!!
Since I started my new venture with Scentsy, things have just taken off & between Agency work and Scentsy parties, I am on the road most of the time.
No time to stop & smell the roses.....................
............................... until recently.

You see that picture at the top, that's my daughter (standing in the pink shirt). Her name is Hannah Rayne Arnason-Smyrski and she is 11 years old. The other night she had a couple friends for a sleep over, at which point I brought out my Velata fondue and treated them (& my two boys) to some fruit dippin, smore makin', lip smackin chocolate lickin' fun. It was great. I love to see them smile.
It has been a while since I saw my daughter smile like this!

If you are not friends with me on facebook, you may not know that my daughter  & I had been going thru a rough time lately.
On June 24 we found out her dad (my ex), Terry Arnason,  passed away very suddenly while out on vacation from his northern job as a Chef at Baker Lake, Nunavut.
It was a shock to both of us. It was a shock to everyone who knew & loved him.
I'll never forget the look on my daughter's face when I told her.
It was the most heart wrenching feeling of my life.

She's 11.
And she will never see her dad again.

I cried for days afterwards, while she went to spend time with my ex's side of the family to plan the funeral and such. I felt so alone. I felt like no one understood. I felt like no one cared. I missed my daughter.
Obviously I was selfish too, cuz this truly was not about me. It was about looking after my daughter.

Here is a picture of her at her dad's funeral. This to me is acceptance.

Moments before this photo she read a poem to her dad, that she wrote herself.
My brave girl!
Then she laid her head on the table and tears ran down one side of her face to the other.
My poor angel.

He dad would have done anything for her.
He would have done anything for anyone.
He was that type of guy.

Below is a link to the FB  tribute his niece put together. It is his funeral service.
There was only immediate family there.

Below is a pic of my daughter (& my brother) planting the Lilac Bush (mentioned in the above memorial service) to commemorate her father. We planted it at my brother's cabin, because we know this will be a place we will visit for years to come.

Since all this has happened I am more conscious of my actions & reactions.
Let kids be kids.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
Enjoy everyday to the max.
Tell my kids I love them everyday.
Spend more time cuddling.
Spend more time laughing.
Cuz before you know it.................it could all be gone.
Like that!

I am a firm believer in "everything happens for a reason".
I was explaining this to my daughter the day of the funeral actually.
"Tell me what you were like in highschool mom. Were you geeky?" she asked
"No, I was in the middle. I wasn't geeky, I wasn't popular, but I had friends on both sides"
"Did you have a boyfriend in highschool?" she asked
"yup, we were together for 5 years, he broke my heart & we broke up after graduation & then I went to work at my first fly-in fishing resort (as a waitress). " I answered.
"Where?" she asked
"Campbells Cabins in Ontario. That's where I was in the fire"  (long story about someone pouring fuel on a fire & it exploded.......myself & 5 others were injured....1 of them passed away)
"So what happened after the fire?" she asked
"Then I went up to work at Knee Lake, where I met your father. And do u see that if I hadn't of got my heart broken & hadn't of been in that horrific fire, I wouldn't have you today. " I answered.
We both cried.
I have the best part of my EX in my daughter and for that I thank him everyday.

***********************

That night we went to the fair in town (July 1st celebrations). The kids rode on rides, ate cotton candy, drank slushies & we enjoyed the fireworks in the nightsky.
The played music to the fireworks & low & behold all the music was sad songs. LOL
So there I was watching the fireworks with tears streaming down my face.
My daughter looked at me and said "are you crying mom?"
I nodded.
She hugged me & said "it's ok to cry".
Pffpt..........who's consoling who now! LOL

****************************

I know you are probly tired of my ramblings, but if you've read nothing on here today and only skipped to this part, REMEMBER THIS.

You are responsible for your actions.
Do what makes you happy!
Give the ones you love a hug today.
Never stop believing!

Happy Crafting!

CLP July Sketch Challenge

Hello And welcome to the CLP Challenge for July! It's another fantastic sketch (see below).
After last months entries, I'm not sure it can get much better....but how about we try!
As you read this I am off to my brother & sister in law's cabin for some much needed R&R!
Although my card resembles patriotic colors of other countries, this wknd I am celebrating CANADA DAY and our colors are RED & WHITE! LOL ah, close enough to my card eh!? (that's what we say in Canada.....eh?- Eulanda you can relate I'm sure! LOL)

And here's my take using a Saturated Canary image Baby Jake! After I colored him up, I realized how much I missed the Saturated Canary images so I went on a bit of a shopping spree! LOL
I went with the Red, White & Blue theme to suit the Saturated Canary challenge

I snuck a little wee tag in the top there with a SU sentiment on it. I used some beautiful flower dies that I got from the amazing Julie, & I used some of my twine stash. Let's not forget about that cute lil hand charm!

Please hop over tothe CLP Challenge Blog & take a look at the other girls' inspiration! You surely will not be dissappointed!

I painted it with multiple colors of acrylic paints & used many different ribbons from both Really Reasonable Ribbons and The Ribbon Carousel! The leafy flourish is a Cherry Lynn Designs freebie I got from some online store when I made a purchase! Pearly stamens are from Bizzy Becs and flowers are from I am Roses
